Sector Manager Histoire d’Or

Histoire d’Or

What is your career path?

I started as a Sales Advisor at Histoire d’Or 11 years ago. I progressed to Senior Sales Advisor and then Sales Manager. Five years after my start, I was promoted to Store Director. I worked at the Histoire d’Or stores in Noisy-le-Grand, Val d’Europe, and then Rosny-sous-Bois. Since October 2024, I have been a Regional Director in South Paris.

What thrills you about your job?

The colleagues I work with every day and whom I want to help develop their skills, the human interactions. The fact that each day is different, unique. And of course, the challenge and the desire to surpass oneself every day.

Which of the Group’s 5 values mean the most to you?

Team spirit. It is the very essence of our profession. Together, we succeed in achieving great things every day. Excellence, to optimize our customer service, have beautiful stores, and push our teams to strive for the best in themselves. The boldness to take initiatives, try new things, and give responsibilities to our colleagues.

Can you describe a typical workday for us?

My workdays are varied and fast-paced. I start by analyzing the previous day’s performance and then email the teams their sales indicators, priorities, and objectives for the day.

Next, I go into the field to meet with store managers and their teams, discuss their needs and any challenges they’re facing, and encourage them. Store visits are essential. They allow me to ensure product availability and the proper execution of commercial operations, monitor merchandising, and oversee the work of sales advisors. I usually have lunch with the store manager I’m visiting to have a dedicated moment outside the store, and at the end of the day, I debrief my visit.

Additionally, I communicate daily with the head office on various topics, follow up on ongoing projects, and analyze sector performance (revenue, satisfaction, etc.).

What are the main qualities you need for your job?

Leadership, team spirit, versatility, and kindness. You need to be interested in others and able to question yourself. You must know how to communicate with teams and motivate them: be a good listener, transparent, encourage information sharing, show patience, and be open to self-reflection.

The days are often punctuated by unexpected events, so you need to enjoy challenges, be responsive, and even proactive, with a strong sense of priorities.

In short, it’s a demanding and passionate job that allows us to experience exceptional moments with our customers and teams. It’s a rewarding profession!
