What is a typical day like?

We always start the day with a brief. This is essential to create a good dynamic among the team! Is allows you to review the day before, to take stock of the objectives to be achieved and the various missions that will shape the day: receipt of merchandise, restocking, merchandising, training, team leadership, etc.

What is it about your job that you especially enjoy?

As a Sales Manager, what drives me is the challenge. And there are many challenges: achieving the set objectives, uniting the teams and helping them improve their skills, guiding and advising clients on the best choice...
I also appreciate the human side: belonging to a team, working together by adapting to different profiles and personalities.
It is very rewarding!

What are the qualities necessary for your job?

Being organised and exacting with yourself in order to successfully complete all the day's missions.
You also have to know how to delegate of course and then adapt your speech according to the profile of the employees: being tactful is important!

Why did you choose THOM Group?

I started to work in the ready-to-wear sector, and I didn't think I could join the jewellery industry without having some experience.
And yet when I applied, everything happened very quickly: 1 week later I joined the team.
That's what I really appreciate about Thom Group: it's a company that gives a chance to everyone who wants to take it.

What makes THOM Group a particularly human company for you?

THOM Group pays great attention to and is very friendly towards employees. The THOM Académie is a good example. I am also thinking of the social network that was set up during the Covid crisis to allow us to stay in touch.
We all felt supported and cared for by our company.

Among the 5 values of the Group, which two speak to you the most? And how have you integrated them into your daily life?

Simplicity : The fact that there are no doors in our stores is a good illustration of this spirit of simplicity: our stores are open to everyone, you simply walk in no matter whether you come to buy a piece of jewellery on a budget or for an important occasion.

Boldness : In my opinion, it means being daring with customers! Daring to accompany the client in their story, finding the right mix of approach in order to gain their trust without being too intrusive, and ultimately proposing a piece of jewellery that makes them really happy but that perhaps is not what they planned to buy when entering.

What do you think is the secret of a successful day?

It is twofold: on the one hand, that the whole team has acquired new knowledge and is eager to meet again the next day. On the other hand, that the customers leave with a smile, having found the piece they were looking for.
They generally go hand in hand!

What has been your best moment at THOM Group?

Carrying out the clearance of an entire store's stock ready for reopening after refurbishment.
On the one hand because it is an opportunity to serve many customers, but also because we have the opportunity to see behind the scenes by going to head office: the storage of the jewellery, the security system, and so on.
Upon reopening, we are faced with a brand-new store with everything to do: reserves of stock, choice of jewellery, window dressing, etc.
It's a unique moment! I wish everyone could have this experience at least once.
